Mom & Dad, Are you in Charge?

Mom & Dad, Are you in Charge?

Mom & Dad, Are you in charge?

What are you in charge of these days? You are in charge of your home, the children and the peace in your life. Yes this is much easier said than done.

First it is so easy to react. What parent doesn’t react in the home? Typically, children are not great listeners for chores or for what they don’t want to do or hear. Great news you are not alone and haven’t been for centuries.

How are you in charge when no one listens and you are reacting and not responding?

First, what is reacting? Reacting is a negative reaction to an event or comment. You may yell, scream, jump and down, punch a wall, go drinking, go shopping etc. This is a tough concept to understand and no one; yes no one could make you react. This is a choice.

No one could physically make you react, make you yell, make you punch a wall. It’s you doing it.

Yes we could have triggers that activate our reactions buttons within us. Yes, the family knows our trigger points and what sets us off to react. Children are smart they do this as a diversion or to redirect your focus on to something else and not what is happening or to be addressed in the moment.

The family now in a reacting pattern, nothing seems to work and you are reacting to everything. LISAonthego has been here and the more she reacted the more of the same stories and dramas existed.

She had enough and finally learned to respond. Responding is being in a calm space, talking, expressing clearly and detailed, being non-emotional and talking from your heart.

First she took the people affecting her life that was triggering her and would visualize a moment that she remembers them in a good moment. A moment she would smile at the memory that made her heart sing. Then she keep the memory and visualize them in that moment and made them smaller in her mind and smaller, once small enough she brought them to her heart and surrounded them with love and consciously visualized them in her heart and surrounding them in love. No other thoughts, no reactions, the goal just love them, let the negative energies surrender and see them for there pure essence of who they are.

Our ego mind chatters keep talking and criticizing the person. The ego mind keeps saying but, but; what about? Are you kidding me? Seriously? You know you are so right; you are the parent and know you are right about everything occurring that you are now reacting and continually having emotions showing you that you are so right. Does this bring peace to you and your family, balance or grounding?

Trust LISAonthego she was so right, here is the proof, everyone could see, however, she was being reactive. Did you ever notice when someone is so right they are reacting by: being angry, yelling, hands waving, commanding, demanding etc. So, yes LISAonthego was so right and yet reacting.                                                                 (Tough lesson to recognize so she could change, so much easier to say than to follow through with the action of responding. This has made a huge difference in her life too.)

So again, just love them and keep-loving them from within your heart.

Within a few days just loving them, LISAonthego found her peace and then chose to respond.

Hard to believe this actually worked and had a domino effect on the children. This alone, loving from within changed in LISAonthego’s family and life.

LISAonthego found some peace; this action was enough for the people she was loving to change some too. Wow this is incredible. In truth its not about them its about you. Being so right, you are not in your peace being reactive you aren’t in your peace.

In fact you have a choice not to react and to respond. By responding it gives you peace and knowing you have choices. When moms and dads are reactive and learn to respond then they could have peace in the home, structures, routines and stay consistent, things tend to run more smoothly.

When the family is triggering you and you start to be reactive, count to ten, get out of your ego talking chatter mind, walk away and patiently plan your next move. Remove yourself till you could respond. Maybe just sit down for a time out and whatever is taking place in the room in the moment, is taking place, as long as no one is being hurt or in danger, take a deep breath and go within and just sit down. LOL this is an action your family will look at you, you just changed the energy and even enough that could calm things. In a moment, or two or several you could decide how to handle what is going on by responding.

Responding for a parent could be in a soft and yet commanding voice and being centered in their plans. If the behavior is a pattern then set goals, if you do this, then this will happen and if you do this then this will happen. You are responding and everyone knows the rules. Here is an example: lets take a teen. They refuse to do their chores and being defiant. LISAonthego would say your choice, however know the next time you want something and LISAonthego’s teens always would want a ride somewhere. She would say you are refusing to do your chores one of your next rides (LISAonthego’s choice on which ride) is not going to be available. LISAonthego always would give rides to appointments and team sports. This about you and your child, don’t penalize others to proved a point. However when they would want a ride to the stores, town, mall, friends etc. this is where she held the grounds and refused that next ride. It worked and everyone knew the rules, they were clear, specific and detailed.

Mom and dad, are you in charge! Yes! Good luck and have a great day. LISAonthego

One Person Could Effect Your Life

One Person Could Effect Your Life

One Person Could Effect Your Life

Did you know one person could impact your life and have a domino affect on others. LISAonthego says this happens a few times during our lifetime. We just don’t always know it. Some could be negative or positive.

Someone in your life and takes an action the action starts things in motions and affects your life and others.

Here are some positive drama/stories:

  • A doctor helps you with a long time illness and everything is back to functioning. This impacts and dominoes people around you. You are able to care for yourself easily.
  • You are having a difficult time and stuck in your ego mind. A person takes the time to talk to you and their view is so out of box from yours. Yet it makes complete sense and gives you relief and release of burdens. You are a happier person and others around follow suit
  • Randomly you are having financial issues and someone gives you monies that makes a difference
  • A negative boss that makes life difficult for their department finds another job and quits. Overnight life changes for the department
  • Did you also know we don’t know what we mean to others? In your mind you may like someone as a passing friend, co-worker, teacher, boss and in there mind you are their best friend.

Yes these affects could also be negative.

Please note that in every moment of everyday we get choices. Our choices are where we are today.

Being in fear mode keeps us trapped and it’s learning to be us to stand up for ourselves in what we want and need.

In truth we make the choices that define our lives and here we are right now. LISAonthego is a pro at the excuses of why and how to be trapped. Until it became enough was enough. Yes one person could affect our lives and yes we get choices. LISAonthego defines who she is, not you or others regardless on her drama and stories.

One person - meaning those times in life we appreciated the assistance asked or not from others. In those times these people impacted our lives with domino affects.impacted your life

One person has affected LISAonthego’s life a few times in her life and helped to be on her path. No these were not always positive effects. However, once done and looking over the path they were well-meaning gifts not understood until later and most times much later.

These paths have created who LISAonthego is today. The one person who has helped during these crossroads is lifelong memories. Some are best friends, friends, colleagues, teachers etc. People come into our lives for a season, a reason or a lifetime. When these people come they leave gifts for us to expand and grow and we do for them too. Some small and big and yet they are all the same, they give our lives meaning.

Thank you for being in LISAonthego’s life and sharing a path. You mean the world to her because without you, she wouldn’t be who she is today. You, just you impact her life.

Thank you and have a great day. Love, Laughter & Peace, LISAonthego

Reacting Adults, Crazy? Mental Breakdown?

Reacting Adults, Crazy? Mental Breakdown?

Reacting adults, crazy? Mental breakdown? LISAonthego says probably not. Why or when adults have reacted to life situations and are looked upon, as something is wrong with them?

Have you ever been so scared, frightened, fearful not understanding what is happening to you?

And your family and friends say you are not acting like you, some examples could be: you are yelling, crying, hitting, drinking, shopping, sleeping etc. These people have known you your whole life and they start saying what is wrong with you? You are crazy? You need help? Or better yet, they don’t talk to you about you because they think they know better and reach their own conclusion or they talk to everyone else about you or they shut you out with no say.

And you stand their dumbfounded. No one has asked you about you. Then you start talking but remember you are in fear mode, your tone of voice is fearful and you’re scared. The drama and stories are now making sense and time has gone by and there is so much information to tell it’s overwhelming. These people that know you start saying again you need help, your crazy, your mental and you are losing it.

This behavior typically includes others and they are calm and have been expressing their thoughts subtly to others for months and behind your back. Regardless what you say the people that you thought were on your team are now opposed. What do you do?

Reacting adults, crazy? Mental breakdown? These adults are having much drama and life situations happening in their lives and by the time they begin to understand it’s too late. Others have made their judgments and interpretations.

Ask yourself is this the persons typical behavior? Is this who they are and have been all the years you have known them? If your answer is NO then trust yourself to help, be kind, supportive and loving. Some drama stories could be: they are being bullied, alienated by family, friends or co-workers, medical illness, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, someone acting narcissistic to you, failing school, laid off etc.

portrait of a beautiful young girl standing at the window

Also know they’re different scenarios depending on the person from things happening in their own life (being laid off, failing school, ill, etc.) to others inflicting the confusion in your own life (others being narcissistic to you, bullying to you, etc.).

You have now hit rock bottom, tough times and now what?

A family or friend could help by:

  1. Talk to this person and listen, truly listen and understand their current life
  2. Hard to believe their drama or stories ask for the proof
  3. Get to know the story and understand it, you don’t have to accept it, just being understood and listened could help more than you know
  4. Talk to them again and again. Meet them often and talk daily.

***When we are reacting we don’t always make sense. The reacting adult is just putting things together and then too time has now gone by. So much information, drama, stories to tell and it takes your time to listen and understand. Once you understand then help this person with a plan and you are there for them.

  1. Validate the person this utmost importance we all want to know we are cared about, if you don’t mean it don’t do it, this person is already in fear mode
  2. Hug them
  3. Reassure them things are okay
  4. Help find their peace and calm down – meditation, walking etc.
  5. Eat healthy
  6. Suggest Professional help
  7. Group therapy

You have been family or friends for years and this behavior have not occurred before, trust your instincts and knowing your relationship that something is wrong. This person is in fear and reactive mode we all need help from family and friends and be there for them.

Fact, we don’t always understand the whole picture at the time things are happening. It takes time and time does heal all. Remember as a family or friend you have not walked this persons life so don’t assume you know. They’re so many more details that we don’t know or can’t know and we barely learn or see them for ourselves, time eventually shows us.

Sometimes the facts are too much for us to deal with and we need it in pieces and to slowly digest, the pieces of the puzzle eventually are done. This is life, the process and a long journey.

What Kind of Sex do you Like?

LISAonthego went to see 50 Shades Darker she read all three books of 50 Shades because of the hype. The judgments and interpretations of who Christian Grey is or type of personality he is from the books and movies. Also, Anastasia Steel and what is her role with Christian Grey.

What kind of sex do you like?

LISAonthego talks about who you are and what you are. LISAonthego blogs has not talked about what kind of sex you like. Sex is a very personal subject for most people and not discussed. Yet, it’s the one action in life most of us have taken more than once. Did you talk to your partner about your likes and dislikes or talk about contraceptive or talk or type of sex, toys, apparatuses etc.?

LISAonthego Statistic – sex is 100% in your own mind. Someone can’t make you like something, want it more or less or touch you the way you want to be. Sex is 100% of what you like and don’t and what your interpretation of how it could be. Most of sex is in our mind. This is our ego mind our thoughts and some is in our hearts mind feeling the love. Sure LISAonthego could say 20% is on the partners of style, approach and flirtation because we know it plays a role for us.

In 50 Shades (Of Grey and Darker movies) LISAonthego is going outside the box here, aside from their personalities (our judgments) she learned about different types of sex. From contracts to types etc.  She believes Christian and Anastasia through the books and movies are awesome teachers about sex. Physical sex has many definitions from missionary style to kinky sex etc. and one that no one teaches today. When reading the books (imaginary) or seeing the movies (visually) we get to experiences the different types of sex, toys and apparatuses. What are your boundaries and what type of sex do you like? Do you talk to your partner or keep your thoughts to yourself?

What do you want in a relationship? What type of sex do you like?

Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel negotiated their wants and needs. They walked away from the relationship when things didn’t go their way and no communication. Then came back to neutral territory at a restaurant and discussed the issues, negotiated and moved on. In fact the discussions, arguments stayed in the present, no past was brought up into the heavy discussion, as they were resolved. Do you know your partner wants and their needs; do you even know your own?

Sex toys word cloud concept

Sex toys word cloud concept

In fact I found there story a love story in what a relationship; role model could look like. In the book/movies Christian Grey is 26 years and this is when guys start to grow up and discover whom they’re and want to be. The book/movie shows Christian Grey going through the transition. Anastasia is 21 years in the book/movie and coming into her own.

At their ages they knew or thought what they wanted in their lives and as the issues arose during their courtship it solidified their beliefs and their relationship.

What kind of sex do you like? Have a great day. Love, Laughter & Peace, LISAonthego

Positive Mind Shift Starting Today

Positive Mind Shift Starting Today

Lets start a positive mind shift today. This video on What a Valuable Lesson About Mistakes. Always Rise Above by Naga Narahari Rao J is the perfect drama/story to explain why a positive mind shift starts today.

What about the glass being half full; the positive?

When is the good ever pointed out? Most of us notice the negatives and what could change to be different and assuming changing the negative will be better. However when is the positive things we do in life pointed out or praised? On a daily basis we all do more positives than negatives. LISAonthego says daily we do 80% +\- positives in our life, following the rules, taking care of ourselves etc. Yet we don’t take the time to compliment others or ourselves.

When we are taught the glass is half empty we are being taught this is a negative. People love fixing negatives, what we did wrong and how to correct it. This is done by pointing out the negatives, being mean, cruel and criticizing etc. We rarely learn from these ways.

We could learn by our mistakes once we think about it. When the situation or circumstance arise again we could do the same thing with the same mistake or change it.

change-from-your-experience-lisaonthego

Your negative criticism, words, statements, comments etc. doesn’t change LISAonthego; her experience to a situation or event changes her.

We learn by our experience not your negative, degrading words, example: A child, you tell them again and again the stove is hot, guess what? When they touch that hot stove and have their own experience then they could decide to change.

Its time for a mind shift today and to say great job, you did that well, thanks for helping and doing your chores, look what you did well, it helped so many others, you are smart and intelligent, wow check that out. Mind shift praise in what we are doing from our experiences, bet this will get you to change things quicker in feeling good about yourself, a higher self-esteem and being positive.

Time for a mind shift and say a compliment to others and yourself in your everyday life. When we do make a mistake, what was the lesson or experience that you learned? What was the gift? What perspective changed? Did anything else change from this experience? What if we start acknowledging our own experiences and the gifts and feeling good about who we are? Its about time, starting now start acknowledging you and others for all they have done today!!! No matter how big or small, its all the same, you did awesome!!!

How you Talk Impacts Us

How you talk Impacts us

LISAonthego says

how you talk to others impacts us by the tone of your voice, body language, facial expressions, words etc.

LISAonthego has been processing life. Why she likes someone or not, or loves someone or not or both. She realized how people talk to her influences her self-esteem even in adulthood.

When you are a child many people touch your lives in a day: parents, siblings, teachers, classmates, friends, family etc. How they talk and interact with us has an influence in our lives. The people we spend the most time with us do have a huge impact on whom we are.

Listen to the Tone of Voice

How is a parent talking to a child most of the time? Are they using a baby voice? An angry or annoyed voice? A happy voice? These voices influence who we are. We recall how we were talked to. Did you feel love and appreciated? Did you feel you were in the way? Were others spoken to differently?

How are people talking to you in your adult world? Are they appreciative and glad you are present? Do they understand you or just ignore you? Are you a pawn in their lives for their benefits?

How people speak to us and we interpret it during our lives impact us. The tone of voice matters because its sets the tone and attitude of the conversation. Also, know your intuitive feelings are true for you about how someone talks to you. Even when you confront them asking why are you angry? Upset? Sad? Do they speak the truth or lie. Go within and trust your intuition then respond accordingly.

What LISAonthego doesn’t understand why not speak the truth. It’s your opinion, a feeling that is not right or wrong. Some people feel it’s none of their business or don’t want a confrontation or actually some people just like to hear themselves talk and really don’t care what they are saying.

All conversations do influence our lives. It influences who we are, how we view the world, impacts our self-esteem, what we think of ourselves, what others think of us as we become adults we get to change it. Think about it throughout your childhood how were you spoken to: were you loved, put on pedestal, appreciated, valued or you were in the way, others annoyed, frustrated, a nuisance. In our childhood influences who we are and become.

seuss-don-matter

Then comes adulthood and its how we define it.

Yes all conversations have a tone and when people aren’t nice, we do have a choice of how to engage. LISAonthego is learning to love herself regardless how you to talk to her and influence her life. She doesn’t like your tone of voice she changes it in her thoughts to be positive. Much easier said than done. She also has the choice to ignore you, tune you out, not engage, laugh and move forwards. Our attitude also affects how we absorb what others are saying.

LISAonthego loves having choices. When someone is not talking nice to you or respecting her she has a plan so they aren’t affecting her: she could tune them out, disengage, excuse herself etc. This is much easier said than done until you do it often enough then it becomes your life. As the saying goes “fake till you make it” you will make it and its great when you do. Love you by making loving choices for you!

Love, Laughter & Peace LISAonthego
